In the filmmakers’ words

“When exposing lies becomes a crime.”

“At the heart of it all lies a simple but profound question: what happens when those who speak out are silenced?”

— Seba Terribilini and Philippe Carillo, announcing the trailer

The film is the filmmakers’ work and tells the story as they see it, including claims Restore the First does not make itself. Our own account of the case sticks to the record, and it is below.

What the record shows

The conviction is final. The questions are not.

Reiner Fuellmich is a German trial lawyer. In 2020 he co-founded the Corona Investigative Committee, which gathered testimony from doctors, scientists and lawyers challenging official pandemic policy. To many people around the world he became a voice against lockdowns and vaccine mandates. He has been in German custody since October 2023.

  • No extradition hearing. In October 2023 he was detained in Tijuana and deported to Germany, not extradited through a Mexican court. Emails quoted in his own criminal complaint describe officials planning to use a consular appointment to have him detained.
  • Detention not credited. A German court withheld credit for five months of his pretrial detention, partly because of how he used his own trial to speak.
  • Past the two-thirds mark. On our arithmetic he has passed two-thirds of his sentence, when German law allows a court to grant parole.
  • Moved without notice. On October 8, 2026 he was transferred to Lingen prison. A human rights complaint filed October 12 says he was put in a damp, moldy basement cell. We report that as the complaint’s account.

He was convicted of breach of trust over donations to the Corona Committee foundation, and Germany’s Federal Court of Justice has made that final. We take no position on the verdict. We ask how it was reached and how he is held.

The Court of Public Opinion, 2022.

From February 5 to June 9, 2022, Fuellmich and a group of lawyers from about ten countries, joined by a judge, held a public proceeding modeled on a grand jury. It was not a court and had no legal force. Over eight sessions it presented witness testimony on PCR testing, the injections, the economic damage of lockdowns, and propaganda, in what he called “the biggest crime against humanity ever perpetrated.”
