The “duty of care” is back.
KOSA cleared Senate Commerce on August 5 and awaits a floor vote. CCDH still lists a legal “duty to protect children” as its first ask of Congress. In 2024, Sayer Ji warned who that standard could empower. Read it, then act on it.
Where the bill stands
- S. 1748 introduced with 76 cosponsors.
- The House passed the KIDS Act, 267–117, carrying a rewritten KOSA.
- Senate Commerce ordered KOSA reported. No floor vote yet.
- CCDH’s wish list for Congress puts a legal duty to protect children first.

How your work gets on the front page.
The hub runs on partner journalism. It does not replace your site; it sends readers to it, puts the coalition’s actions under your work, and gives our followers one place to find and share it.
Send your profile
Mission line, a short “about,” your First Amendment story, logo, a real photo, and where readers can follow and support you. Your desk goes live after editorial review.
